Landmark Hardscapes is proudly woman-owned and family-run, led by Silvia Mendez, a San Diego native with a passion for design, construction, and creating outdoor spaces that bring people together.
In an industry traditionally dominated by men, Silvia brings a woman’s touch — not just in aesthetics, but in the heart behind every design. Her approach is rooted in creativity, attention to detail, and a genuine understanding of how families live, celebrate, and connect.
Before launching Landmark Hardscapes, Silvia built a successful career in advertising and marketing, working with leading networks such as NBC, ABC, Univision, and Telemundo. There, she developed marketing partnerships and campaigns that honed her eye for design and her ability to understand people’s needs and aspirations.
Her construction roots run deep. Growing up, Silvia worked alongside her father, helping remodel his rental homes and apartment properties. Those experiences not only taught her the fundamentals of building but also instilled in her the joy of transforming spaces and the pride of doing things right.
Of Mexican descent and born and raised in San Diego, Silvia values family above all. Married with a daughter in college, she understands the importance of creating spaces designed for gathering, relaxing, and celebrating. Weekends often mean carne asadas with friends and family, good food, and laughter — the kind of memories she strives to help her clients create.
